Privacy Policy

Pinpoint works without an account. If you never sign in, nothing you do in the app leaves your phone. Signing in is optional and exists only to back up your progress and sync it between your devices.
Who we are
Pinpoint is made by VorreiX Consulting LLP, registered in Kerala, India. For anything in this policy, contact mail@vorreix.com. We are the data controller for the information described below.
Using Pinpoint without an account
On first launch the app creates a local identity on your device. Your daily situations, your answers, anything you type, your streak, your saved responses and your settings are stored in your phone's app storage.
We cannot see any of it. It is not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it.
If you choose to sign in
You can sign in with Google or Apple to back up your progress. We then hold the following, through Google's Firebase platform:

If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only ever receive Apple's private relay address. We never see your real one.
What we never collect
- No advertising identifiers, ad networks or third-party trackers.
- No analytics SDK. We do not measure how you use the app.
- No location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera access.
- No payment details. Pinpoint does not sell anything inside the app.
We do not sell, rent or share your information, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.
Connections the app makes
Software updates
The app checks for content and bug-fix updates when it starts, using Expo's update service. That request tells Expo the platform, the app version and an install identifier. It contains nothing about you or your answers.
Reminders
Daily reminders are scheduled by your phone itself. There is no push server and we do not collect a push token. If you turn reminders off, nothing is scheduled.
Who else handles your data
If you sign in, Google LLC processes your data on our behalf through Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore. Sign-in is handled by Google or Apple depending on which you choose; they authenticate you and tell us who you are. Expo serves app updates as described above. Apple and Google also operate the app stores you download from, under their own privacy policies.
Where your data is stored
Guest data stays on your device. Account data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure and may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Transfers rely on Google's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account exists. Delete your account and the whole record is removed: locally and from our servers. There is no soft-delete and no archive copy that we can restore.
Your choices
- Use the app without an account. Then we hold nothing at all.
- Export your data. Settings → Export my data gives you everything the app holds, as a readable file.
- Delete your account. Settings → Delete account removes it immediately, from the device and from our servers.
- Turn off reminders at any time in Settings.
Depending on where you live you may also have rights to access, correct, object to or restrict our use of your information, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email mail@vorreix.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
Pinpoint is not directed at children. The situations deal with adult topics including workplace conflict, money, relationships, alcohol and grief. Do not use the app if you are under 13, or under the minimum age of digital consent where you live if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect data from children; if we learn that we have, we delete it.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Account records are readable and writable only by the signed-in owner, enforced by server-side security rules rather than by the app. There are no passwords to steal, because sign-in is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects how we use your information, tell you in the app before it takes effect.
